Healing Prayer Lend to me “Lord” your hands for me to hold.
A place for me to be free
from the grief
that's captured me.
Some nights of ideal rest
knowing I‘m still blessed
no matter what should come
to know you’re keeping care
of my beautiful son.
Offer me “Lord”
a vision of the afterlife
memories kept alive
gentle dreams to comfort my heart
for broken spirits cry in the dark.
Allow to me “Lord”
a few days without tears.
Moments I can find
to ease and calm
my anguished mind.
Hints of light to see
glimpses of joy left inside me.
Minutes without rain
or purpose for this ceaseless pain. |

The pain is obvious , as is the talent for poetic verse.I enjoyed this poem because it is simple and to the point like a prayer would be. Minutes without rain is a brilliant way of expressing the non stop tears of loss.
As to the purpose I would say the poem is an excellent example of turning the negative into something more beautiful

Deni,
This is such a deep heart felt and reverent write...I totally fell into sync with your emotions and your prayer. Wonderfully worded, what can one say about something on this level but to give you my admiration for voicing this plea so eloquently. Many blessings my friend. Lora

DeniMari- the personal aspects of this verse/prayer, are so universal that the entire verse translates to many indices in the readers life.
Some I could never see myself ask for, some are times I’d rather forget- and am not sure these issues were resolved in accordance with the hope required.
Other Places, other times, and “anguished mind” are very familiar. Once again, it is the common need and common distress that endears the verse to the reader. Maybe there are those readers who wouldn’t recognize themselves in the need, or even the deity as a respite; however- even there is the understanding that resolution is often out of our hands.
