Home Is Where Your Truck Is I can take it anywhere or I can stay right here
It's 36 feet, it's beautiful and fully loaded with gear.
I call it my Problem Child but I say it with pride
climb on up into it, and I'll give you a ride.
Make yourself comfortable, lay upon my bed
watch my new plasma TV set
with the 500 channels I can get
here's a pillow for your head.
I've got beer in the refigerator and coffee in the pot
You can take a shower cause the water's good and hot.
Would you like to stay in tonight?...and..
do you think my truck is sexy?
We could play video games all night
or we could set some lines and fish till daylight
fresh trout in the morning
makes a real good breakfast.
Oh, please forgive me if I seem too excited
this new truck has left me a bit light headed
You can put your boots right here, hang your hat there
and by the way..do you think my truck is sexy?
Yes, it's good to know
home is where your truck is.

You and your truck, yes quite sexy. You'd be a hit on any score
especially here in Texas. You have one the the greatest and inviting
parlors, while all I have is a cup of coffee. Your wall-paper is
the road and your spare room is the next off-road adventure. And
you want to know if I think you're sexy. You've the spirit to be
more than that.
That truck, though...you really want to know?...well it's just the
silver tray you're upon.

Ellen,
I'm jealous....you've got a sexy RV.
It's seems to sing through your words. It has everything you need!
You are lucky. Do you own the land?
Your home is really where you are and you are in your rv.
Fresh trout in the morning sounds gooooood!
You lucky duck.
Happy poems don't hurt a bitt.

I enjoyed this home spun poem..got that down home feeling to it and so natural and fun to read. A look into the everyday and the excitement of the new truck..lol..I know the feeling with the new car..(smile) I like your line "do you think my truck is sexy"..hee hee , it is after all an extention of the owner, is it not?

Ellen,
What great fun, I'll be right over to take a look at your RV. Yep, had one also, even went as far as a 5th wheel unit one time, just loved it.
I really liked the read, especially the ryhme, was thrown off a bit in the cadence toward the end, never the less this was great fun to read, thank you for the uplift.
Lora
PS. I still have a truck but no RV, and nope I wouldn't trade it for a car.

Ellen,
Love me, love my truck!!! Only a true truck owner can know the joy of trucking!!! Nice light piece...We need a little more light hearted verse these days...One of my favorites about machines is "She thinks my tractor's sexy", pretty funny....Also like the "Redneck Yacht Club" ditty, but boats are another matter...Thanks for the laughs...Peace, Paul

Indeed a fun piece to read and the images you created are just wonderful.........my hubby is an owner/operator and he is on the road during the week so I immediately thought of him with the title posted. Good title it is.........structured well, word flow keeps the piece moving as it should.......the images are many from jumping on, enjoying a nap in the bed, or perhaps a night of fishing and the aroma of fresh fish is great......I love fresh fish............thanks for posting, enjoy many wonderful miles in your RV with those you love or by yourself when the spirit moves you. God Bless, Claire

Hi Ellen....what a delightful poem about your beloved RV! Sounds to me like the two of you are getting along just fine. I don't know where you live or lived before you became an RVer but I imagine it is some place warm. You have all the comforts of home...a plazma TV no less....sound sexy to me! When you drive past my house just slow down a bit and I will jump on! A fun poem....thanks for starting my day with a smile.
Blessings.....Marilyn
