Thank You My Friend I look back on my cube called life and realize what I am! Torn and tattered by the wrath of life, but that's OK, for it's only me. A cube- the perfect descriptive word for me. A square no matter how you look at it- Right? You can lie and say that it's a rectangle with four sides; after all that's what we are- Right? "All FOUR one & one FOUR all!" What a lie, my wonderful friend. So how's your fine life these days? You complain about the things you've lost. Well at least you had them to lose. I know, warped- huh? But true- Right? I'm so glad that we got the chance to know each other so well. It's a wonderful one sided relationship we have- don't you agree? -My Friend! So how much joy does it give you to cut me? Do you watch me bleed or do you just like to listen to my silent screams from a safe distance, far from the pain? How do I go on like this? Well I guess I do it for you, My Friend. For at least I get to see you happy... even if the reason for your joy is the cause of my pain! Warped? No, I don't think so but then again- I'm the one that's always wrong... Right? You strike my face with your "truthful" words of my selfishness. I turn my other cheek; only for that one to be struck by the others- weather in laughter or in words! But this is fine; for though I only have two cheeks to turn- you will never strike all of those which exist in my heart. Also, my words come straight from my heart. That's how I can deceive you so easily with my words- I just change faces! For my heart has many faces- I'm "two faced." Remember, you told me so! -Understand? My friends may feel that they're alone- but at least they exist! -Right? I on the other hand long for an impossibility in life... True Love! Weird, huh? C.T.M. December 5, 1990 |
