Guilt Ridden I’m responsible for honoring corrupt government I am responsible for deaths in wartime Because I’m ignorant is not a pass past blame Each of us holds power to act, and to speak up When we have questions, we must find answers Our lives are not free rides on the happy train Facing wrongs turning them ‘right’ is our duty Blessed with life we are all citizens of this world What happens here and there around the globe Is for us all to champion the cause for goodness Whether we are young, old, even infirmed we must Fight for the integrity of even the least of us If we could step out of our selfish selves and lives And step into doing our very best to have world peace First on a personal level, than city level, then national level… For all nations, for every single person, for all of life, We would then live love |

Dellena,
You have a strong statement within this piece. Poetry gives us all the opportunity to voice it like you have so elequently.
For me since I have been in war, have viewed other cultures, and raised four children, each way has a delicate balance. There are minds that have no recourse, there is evil that resides from within some, and there is no consciousness made in the thought process before acting in some cases. There is no clear answer just a society that acts in favor of the right side at least these are my hopes.
Thanks for sharing a piece that makes one think. Well done. Thomas
