Please read these rules ONE time each month. They may change and it is best to keep informed of our policies if you like to submit poems to our site. The submission rules here are very easy to follow but if you have questions, please do not hesitate to ask me. Failure to abide by these Submission Rules can result in your Submission Privileges being suspended for this entire month. You will not be eligible to win any Poet Prizes during the month if you are Suspended.

All Submitted Poems MUST be your own original work or the work of someone you have permission to submit for. Anyone caught plagiarizing will be subject to legal actions and fines. Plagiarism is a Crime! By submitting an entry, you agree to allowing your Poem including your name and e-mail address to be published on our web page. The author retains full rights and ownership of their poem, we simply publish it for for the rest of the world to view.

At this time The Poetic Link is not claiming any Copyright privileges, but we do ask that if you have your work published elsewhere, that you please include that you have been published here first. Our Copyright Status may soon be changing, so always check here for any updates.

Please feel free to submit any poem that you have submitted to other contests. You may also re-submit any of your poems to us as many times as you like until it is declared a WINNER and you are sent an Award Notice from The Poetic Link. Once your poem receives an Award, it can not be re-submitted to ThePoeticLink.com ever again.

Please do NOT sign your name to your submission. Your name will be automatically attached to your poem for you. We use an anonymous critiquing system here and attaching your name within the Poem Area will mess things up. Please honor this request.

Things that will cause your Submission Privileges to be Suspended for the Month!

• Bashing a critiquer for giving suggestions, improvements or changes to your poem. This rule will be STRONGLY enforced! This site is a workshop site and you should NOT be submitting your work here if you are NOT open to suggestions, corrections or possible changes. If you are just looking for a place to display your Perfect Poetry go to a poetry SCAM site that will take whatever you submit to them and praise you for it.
• Rating a critiquer highly simply because they liked your poem. This rule will be STRONGLY enforced! If you receive a lousy critique like "Nice poem bla bla. I saw no problems, it was great" ...you should rate them with a score of 1 or 2. It does NOT matter if they liked your poem. If their critique was lousy, score them accordingly and then tell them to please give better critiques.
• Telling a certain critiquer that you do NOT want them critiquing your poems anymore. First of all, they don't know who they're critiquing since we use a 100% blind critique system. Second, it is unethical for you to ask such a thing of anyone here. If you feel you can not handle the comments and critiques of everyone here, please go to a poetry SCAM site where everyone who reads your work will give you a "fluffy" comment and never say anything helpful.
• Rating your critiquers badly because they dislike your work. When you rate your critiquers work, you are rating them strictly on how helpful their critique was. You are never to rate them on how much they liked or disliked your poem. You can address that in the reply section if you like, but your rating of their critique should center solely on the content of the critique and how helpful it was to you.
• Bribing or asking a critiquer to score you highly for ANY reason. The critics here are FREE to judge your poem fairly and accurately by their own free will. Any attempt to subvert this process will be justification for suspension.
